Welcome to the new online Independent Guide to Fidelity Funds.
The Guide has been developed as a Flash application, like our existing Scorecard,
which allows us the flexibility to easily incorporate new data on a daily
basis (performance information, etc.) while providing a high level of interactivity.
If you don't have Flash® player, or if the Guide does not
work properly with your current Flash® player, you can download
the latest version free.
some common technical issues reported by our members.
The Guide will
open up in a new window that you can resize by dragging the bottom right
corner or hitting F11 on your keyboard. On the top navigation bar you
can type in a fund's name or ticker to call up it's page in the Guide,
or
click
on
the "Select
from fund list" button.
In a number of places on each fund’s page in the Guide, you will find a link to Rank
FXXXX (fund’s ticker).
This will call up a new window which will show that fund compared to other
Fidelity funds. At the bottom of the window you will see choices for the universe
of Fidelity funds you would like as a comparison.
In the example below for Blue Chip Growth's Fund Snapshot information,
you could select to compare it with other Large Cap Growth Funds (as in this
screen shot), Other Large Cap Funds or All of Fidelity's Domestic Stock
funds. You can click on any header on the ranking table to sort the funds by that
item in either ascending (one click) or descending (click again) order which
will be indicated by an up or down arrow in the header. For example, in the
screen shot above, the data has been sorted by Median Market Cap in descending
order from largest to smallest.
The Guide will be updated daily, although most information
won't change that often. Performance data will change daily, and
when new managers are assigned
by Fidelity, that information will change (a click on the Fund Manager's
name at the top of a fund's page will bring up their background.)
and other information such as holdings data will change as soon
as it is released
by Fidelity (the as of dates are shown on the page).
If there is a news item about a fund, for example a new write-up
from one of our analysts, or a dividend payment is announced, a
red "news" button
will appear next to the fund in the fund listing page as well as
on that fund's page in the guide. Just click on the button to access
the item.
That is all you have to know. We hope you find the new online Guide useful
and as always, we welcome your feedback.

Troubleshooting - since
launching the Guide we've made note of some of the most
common technical issues reported to us by our members.
Maximizing Computer Speed: To
maximize the speed in which you're able to retrieve Guide information,
we strongly recommend that you update your PC with the latest
version of Flash® player. After you've done so, please
remember to reboot your computer.
With that in mind, older PCs may still need a little
extra time to download files. We are in the process of engineering
our software to improve the speed of retrieval. We hope that this
enhancement will be ready in the next few days.
Monitor cutting off right
hand side of Guide: If your monitor
is cutting off the right hand side of the Guide window,
this means that your computer's screen resolution is set to
800x600 and the Guide requires a wider area. We are
looking to develop a long-term solution, but here is a temporary
workaround:
Go into your control panel and double click Display then
click on the Settings tab. You should be able to manipulate
your screen resolution (usually it's a little slider) - change
it to 1024x768. This will make everything on your screen
smaller, so you may want to change back to your old resolution
for regular usage.
Trouble installing Flash® Player: If
you've installed Flash® but can't view any Flash® files
(perhaps just a blue screen when the Guide is launched)
click on the link below and read Adobe's technical solutions.
